War Song Poem by WR. Dutton

War Song

Rating: 5.0

Death is too good for me
the war is not yet won
Many battles have been fought
but the torture's not quite done

They attack from every angle
thinking that I will give
They are stupid fools though
for I have no urge to live

So much blood will spill
the stench will make me cough
They might even kill me
but I'ld probably be better off

Their bodies litter the ground
for my revenge is sweet
I will kill most of them
but I'll let some retreat

They will spread the word
about my valiant stand
For i am victorious
The guardian of the land

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Powerful statement...delivered with strong poetic elocution & much imaged verve. Nice, tight, mellifluous structure in place...Solid Crafting, WR... FjR
