Wasn't He There? Poem by Walterrean Salley

Wasn't He There?

Rating: 5.0

Was there ever a time
(Night or day) ,
When God wasn't there
To make a way?

In sickness and sorrow-
All trials to bear-
Even in loneliness,
Wasn't He there?

Midst doubt, anxiety
And the worst fear-
Whatever life dealt
Wasn't He there?

And when the path
Was all but clear,
He freely guided.
Wasn't He there?

Wherever life leads
(Peak or vale) ,
The thing to remember
Is God never fails.

He promised to keep you;
His Word is true.
And there's never a time
He's not there for you.
