Wasting Away Poem by Shay Mitchell

Wasting Away

You see their contagious smile,
And hear their laugh.
Making jokes with everyone,
While having a sparkle in their eyes.

You see them cry,
And hear their pain from their falling tears.
People try to make them smile, but fail.
When you look into their eyes,
You see pain.

You catch a glimpse of their arm,
And see bright red scars.
You hear them, just because of their silence,
Not once do you see a smile.
Never do you see life in their eyes.

You silently watch them waste away....
