Waves Slowly Crashing Poem by Derek McCasland

Waves Slowly Crashing

Waves slowly crashing,
Crashing into me,
Breaking 'long the shore
Of my fading memory.

Emotions and dreams
Will ebb with the tide;
That silent friend
In which I confide.

Dark clouds roll in
Then fly away on the breeze,
As my troubles disperse
By twos, and by threes.

Castles in the sand,
And footprints left behind,
Washed away by the current
Of my wandering mind.

As the sun deeply sets
Just to the West of me,
Waves crash 'long the shore
Of my fading memory.
