We All Have Other Lives We Might Have Had Poem by Shalom Freedman

We All Have Other Lives We Might Have Had

We all have other lives we might have had
We all have dreams we never knew to realize
We all have much we do not want
We all have difficulties in life
We all have much in life we wish were otherwise
We all live in the constriction of what we can never change
We all must live with what we are and what we have
We all will die with lives far from complete in realization-

We all have only
The lives we have had
The lives we have
The lives we will have
And not all those endless dreams for ourselves
That never will be -
