We Are All Swimming In A Sea Of Time

Rating: 5.0

It is true to say that
when we drown we die
but the correct phrase
is that when we die
we drown, in time.

The present leaves us
behind as we sink deeper
into the past,

Our spirit gets knocked
out of phase with the
physical universe and
exists in that place left
behind by the relentless
unpausing wave of the speed
time.

The future is the rivers
of possibilty which feed
the sea of time.

They fork and split, these
are your decisions which
affect your path and whether
or not you just tred time
or you go places in your life.

Either way we all end up sinking
to a new existance under the present
on the surface of the sea of time.

I love the title and the ideas in here. There are things in here which are not immediately obvious to just anybody. It's clear, concise writing in every way.Drowning in time is one of the most astonishing things I've ever read in a poem: 'is that when we die we drown, in time.'
