We Are Enemies Poem by Soumita Sarkar

We Are Enemies

I know it I smell it
I feel it from far
Something sweet soggy
that resides in your thought

My mind lame not yet
to get in it straight
You want to hide I bet
You look away afraid
Stop this futile fight
it brings no delight

Share me, show me dear
What you have inside
Keep your fear aside
See in me I am your aid

Still I wait, I hesitate
I shy at your sight
I see a sweet fright
That shine in our eyes

What left to resort
is to pass and avoid
A mere wish to greet
which reaches till defeat
a wasteful way to meet
trying strong to recede
both fast both furious
both rough both cautious
both in rage both can't abate
this tricky twist of fate
both delighted to beat
desperate to rate and read
we see sound of silence
dissolved unto influence
In loving rhythm of feat
Two space empty in a calm heat
