We Are No Fool Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

We Are No Fool

Rating: 5.0

We are no fools
But very much successful
Alas! I should not have been related
To caste, religion and communities clearly stated

They want to keep us where we were
Not independent, illiterate to starve
Go for government help and beg
We have caste and community tag

Their politics is around wheat and rice
Some cloths and utensils in promises
Many may offer free television
Just to block thinking and vision

Illiteracy and groups kill democracy
Independent judiciary is in the hands of almighty
Cases linger on for years or even till death
Parliament is seized and looters have muffled our breath

Members and representatives allow no bills to pass
The spirit of sanctity is killed inside with its own class
They call it “holy temple of people’s representatives”
Their move is limited to gain and subjective

Elections may come and go
National interest may be bartered or blown
Their hands are full of corruption
Parliament is facing disruption

We will watch mockery some more time
The sun will surely rise and shine sometimes
Younger generation may rise in revolt
They may address the system and its fault
