We Can Overcome Poem by Tom Zart

We Can Overcome

Where are the woman who need a good man?
Where are the woman with love in their hand?
Where are the children who played on the lawn?
Where are the children when mom and dad are gone?

Where are the gentlemen who protect and provide?
Where are the wise who will love you inside?
Answer these questions which test our resolve
Answer our pleas as life’s problems we solve.

Life has its givers and those on the take
As too many suffer from shame and mistake.
Blessed are the outcomes of the righteous of heart
By living God’s will from sin they depart.

Lord I confess I depend on Your love
As I pray to Jesus my Savior above.
Trusting He’ll whisper His goodness in my ear
So I may overcome doubt, temptation and fear.
