We Cannot Stay Poem by illinois haze

We Cannot Stay

Rating: 5.0

The clouds ambushed the sun
this night was going to bleed goodbyes
We were the summer's sons
it was her last request before she died
we slipped away,
to a better place
full of laughs and bliss
it was all for this
but we cannot stay
we cannot stay.
it was half passed midnight
the streets layed bare
hands held tight
the best were there
it was seen in her eyes
we visited the swing set
in that childhood place
but we could not forget
we cannot stay
we cannot stay.
the rain fell
as we walked home
lets give 'em hell
the world unknown
three valiant soldiers
three daughters of God
we danced and said goodbyes
the clock would never stop
we had the time of our lives
its bitter to say
as much as we srive
we cannot stay
we cannot stay

you are amazing to take me all the way home to the last day I was innocent. The innocence is gone but you helped me remember what it was like to be a boy straining to be a man
