We Complain

we complain that we have to get up early every day,
For just a few minutes of sleep every nite they would pay,
we complain when the water in the shower isn't hot,
For them just to shower once is a lot,

we complain when the food we eat isn't good,
For them they eat anything that they could,
we complain that we have to go to school and learn,
For them school is something that they yearn,

After school we dont even take the time to our friends to say bi,
For them they dont have anyone that they can realy even say hi,
We complain when our parents tell us to go to bed,
For them just the thought of sleeping they dread,

We complain even though our beds are soft and warm,
They sleep on the ground outside even in a storm,
Think about this everytime your about to complain,
We are so lucky to be able to go through a day without any pain

poet Alfred Lord Tennyson

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
