We Gather On Christmas Day At Annville Paradise Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Today, we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ
With nine of us, we gather here on Christmas Day.
Tony's family live far away.
They arrived late because of traffic jam.
It's almost seven in the evening when they came.
The sun light has long gone, and the sky is very dark.
Our four grandchildren are very happy
They laugh, they smile, and they hug everyone.
Uncle Peter is busy with hours of cooking.
He prepares a dish of honey sweet potatoes.
He bakes a well prepared fresh turkey.
He also bakes his special ham,
Which is glazed with honey for better flavor and taste.
We start with Peter-made clam chowder soup
We enjoy drinking soda, or a can of beer for the feast
Today, we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ
Our families gather here, so happy we are, on Christmas Day.

GIA ĐÌNH ĐOÀN TỤ NGÀY CHRISTMAS Ở ANNVILLE PARADISE

Hôm nay mừng Chúa ra đời
Gia đình đoàn tụ, chín người với nhau.
Tony nhà ở thật xa
Đường xe bị kẹt, tới càng muộn hơn.
Tới nơi đã bẩy giờ rồi,
Mặt trời đã tắt, ngoài trời tối om.
Bốn cháu mừng rỡ qúa trời
Chúng cười, chúng dỡn, chúng ôm cả nhà
Peter lo chuyện nấu ăn
Khoai lang xào mật, gà tây đút lò
Thịt 'hem' thì cũng nướng luôn
Thịt này tẩm với mật ong đậm đà.
Khai vị, súp hến mở đầu.
Người uống nước ngọt, người cầm lon bia.
Hôm nay mừng Chúa sinh ra
Cả nhà đoàn tụ, thật là vui thay.
