We Give Them Our Trust Poem by Francis Duggan

We want to believe from them what we do hear
We give them our trust they repay us in fear
Their mistrust of others is a source of hate
A World of fear they have helped to create
In a World where millions of people of hunger are dying
And starving young children of hunger pains crying
The power greedy tell us who to trust and who to despise
And by their very words to mistrust they give rise
For to cling to power they give rise to the us against they
And from peace amongst people we are now further away
Than at any time in the history of Humankind
The one eyed one rules in the Land of the blind
We want to believe from them what we do hear
We give them our trust and they repay us in fear.
