We Hear Of Successes And Failures Poem by Francis Duggan

We Hear Of Successes And Failures

We hear of successes and failures but it all comes to nought in the end
But as a human being it does matter if to someone in need you're a friend
By giving in ways we are receiving and if you can help someone in need
Then you've made your day a big success by performing a very good deed
At the end we all do seem failures for none in the flesh do live on
And it will not matter to us how we are judged by others when the life from our bodies has gone
But if you can give some of your time to others and help them in some little way
Then you can feel proud of your efforts you've helped for to make someone's day
This talk of successes and failures is born of bureaucracy
In death we do all seem as failures that is how it does seem to me
I see the power abusers and the self centred as failures their small World is me, myself and i
The World not better for them living in it as failures they live and they die
Success and failure were born of bureaucracy and though the praises of the so called successful we sing
At the end it does not matter since to our gift of life we cannot cling.
