We Hear The Cross Poem by Gary James Smith

We Hear The Cross

We Hear The Cross

We hear the Cross from the Word
As that day is magnified
When God poured all His wrath on His Son
So that we might be glorified
While people stood and marvelled
At the wonder of it all
Christ was saving the thief on the Cross
His final Salvation call

Now His Word presents to us
Still that same offer in writing
When faith takes hold of the truth of God's Word
A Spiritual work is igniting
We rise above the things of this world
Our thoughts are turned Heavenly
If He could save the thief on the Cross
Then surely He can save me

Lord here I am at the Cross
Just a needy sinner I come
Believing that You died for me
I too want Heaven as my home
I believe You died and rose again
The true Life giver of men
I welcome You into my heart
Today I've been born again!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
