We had the same kind of need to be ‘ fine’
We had the same kind of need to smile
We had the same kind of need for approval
We just didn’t do unhappy for so many reasons
But we have the same deep need to be loved.

We have the same urgent desire for intimacy
The same yearning for a deeper sense of being
The same fear of not being ‘good’, not living up to what was expected.

We fitted
We were the same
And we were meant.
