We'Ll Always Be Free Poem by Holly Jamestone

We'Ll Always Be Free

The day our world changed
On a Tuesday, you see
It made us more driven
And left us more free

It kept us more hopeful
And helped us to treasure
Intangibles, family
The things one can't measure

With skies now more golden
As clouds have ceased crying
Our hearts still remember
The sick and the dying

While candles are glowing
This holiday season
Our days have more purpose
And lives have more reason

We look toward the skies now
And see hope at last
We treasure each moment
Our present, our past

Our children, we hold them
So much tighter now
We turn toward the heavens
And then make a vow

To always hold dear to us
Things that are real
And life ever precious
No evil can steal

This season is different
It's better, you see
It gently reminds us
WE'LL ALWAYS BE FREE
