We Make Them Feel Special Poem by Francis Duggan

We Make Them Feel Special

The President and Monarch to me seem the same
As 'twould seem they only do live for their own fame
With them more than most it is me, myself and I
And their egos will be with them till the day that they die
We make them feel special and them we admire
And of singing their praises we can't seem to tire
But are they that different to us or the sheep or the cow
When to the father of time we too have to bow
And the Reaper eventually claims the life from us all
As well as all creatures and life forms the great and the small
Only Nature herself will live forever more
And of years few humans do live beyond the four score
The facts tell us so and facts never lie
That we are mere mortals and born to die.
