We Shall Weep Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

We Shall Weep

Rating: 5.0

We are ready to perish
But not ready to finish
With peace chance
Even at once

“The religion card” is playing well
You cry wolf and like weeping boy tell
About being ill treated as minority
The politicians have inflamed it already

The food habit and faith can’t be compelled
But the progress can’t be stonewalled
Not each time you try to offend the feelings of majority
Then throw the debate open for scrutiny

Is this the meaning of “True democracy”?
Where each cast is pitted against one another in country
The politicians have no shame in underlying the fact
The poor and misguided people take fight in street and react

We may advocate restraint
And humanity shall faint
The innocent people die in police firing indiscriminately
We shall weep with pain and agony helplessly
