We Wonder Why

Sleepless nights it’s no surprise
While I lay awake I count fire flies
What did I say the other day
To make her think another way
I made no promises this I vow
Confusion reined still somehow
I hope for her she’ll understand
I could not give her a wedding band
Alone we stay look at the sky
Gather our thoughts and wonder why
