Weekend Poem by Josh Burnett

Weekend

Tell me how can I make you smile
You can't count on me
Cuz I won't be at your side
Just like you were there for me
I'm giving you some time
To show me how much you care
I don't hear anything
Than I am gone
Cuz you don't know how hard I've tried
How many tears that I've cried
How many nights I wished I died
I don't need you anymore
Cuz I look so good without you

It's going to be another one of those weekends
But it's ok I've got plenty of friends
I don't need you anymore
I don't want you anymore
Cuz I'm just fine without you
I only miss you when I'm alone
But I don't even notice that you're gone

The first time you looked at me
I notice the smile
Should've seen it distorted
Should have never courted
I was never prepared
For what you didn't want to share
I should have seen it in your eyes
That you would not care
Now I keep my phone turned off
Cuz I don't want to accept that call
Doesnt' really matter
Cuz tomorrow I'm getting it blocked
And when you find out you'll be shocked

It's going to be another one of those weekends
But it's ok I've got plenty of friends
I don't need you anymore
I don't want you anymore
Cuz I'm just fine without you
I only miss you when I'm alone
But I don't even notice that you're gone

I don't know why I waste my time
You are never here
I don't know why I really care
You won't break me down
You never let me know
There's only one thing I can say

It's going to be another one of those weekends
But it's ok I've got plenty of friends
I don't need you anymore
I don't want you anymore
Cuz I'm just fine without you
I only miss you when I'm alone
But I don't even notice that you're gone
