Weeping Willow Poem by Melissa Bange

Weeping Willow

Long after dark
The wind blows
Through the Weeping Willow
From root to bud
Leaf to stem
Music errupts
From hollow bark
Silent first
Then rhythm within
Creeping, crawling,
Slowly calling
Softly, it's pulling you in
The wind blows
Through the Weeping Willow
When to becon
Is all it knows
Ever so cunning
Keeps beat
Times you running
Watching from so high
Keep a close eye
Ready, willing
And able
Waiting patiently
For you are unstable
The wind blows
Through the Weeping Willow
One more song to play
One more heart to betray
I heard you long ago
Calling for my soul
Your melody so sweet
Inviting
So easy to submit
But, I can't let you win
So Weeping Willow
Play your song
Play, play on
And on
Keep your reeds
Your shallow bark
I'll keep my soul
You keep the dark
