Welcome To My Tavern Poem by Kishore Asthana

Welcome To My Tavern

When religions make my heart bitter
And my mind is in turmoil
Music is a my safe refuge
And wine a useful foil

You too definitely are
Welcome in this tavern, any time
The music here warms the heart
The wine is truly sublime

Do not go by outer signs
They are there just for show
Here is the secret of unparalleled bliss
Where ‘sins’ are not and joys grow

Those who are close to the devil
Will see devils everywhere
Only divine light floods my tavern
Come in, there’s plenty to share

Sophia Perennis was discovered here
The vintage of a drunken heart
When we are truly high on it
We can’t tell each other apart

Stop preaching and come and see
What Eshoa’ really meant when he
Spoke words to Thomas which set him free
Of the difference between you and me

I go in now and hope you will too
Have the courage to come in my dears
The tavern is full of good old wine
Let’s go in and say “Cheers”
