What Do We Say Poem by jackie compton

What Do We Say

So this is the time that we no not.
What do we say?
To those that are punished unjustly.
The wheels of just turn lose but they do turn.
When justice is delayed, and we know justice is denied.

What do we say?
When the river of hard time flood out the crops of hope.
When the winds of madness blow across the landscape of life.
What do we say?

When it becomes a time to wonder.
A time to confront our enter most demons.
When we can not find the words to express our emotion, sorrows
and deepest regrets.

What do we say?
When we become a band of brothers gathered together to deprive a
person of their right.
When we fail to harness our hate and prejudice.

What do we say?
When we fail to understand.
That one man's right to stand alone is just as great.
As one man's rights to stand with many
