What Goes Up Must Come Down Poem by Jade Meed

What Goes Up Must Come Down

What goes up must come down,
I try to swim but I fall and drown.
Reach Everest’s summit after a climb,
But I know it won’t last for a long time.
‘Cause sooner or later, That’ll be it,
It’ll be coming back down in a bit.

A balloon flys high in the sky,
But we all know, it’s a myth, a lie.
‘Cause sooner or later, that’ll be all,
The balloon will pop and it will fall.

A rocket ship launches, leaves the earth,
A few moments, that’s all it’s worth
‘Cause sooner or later, it’s gonna come back again,
Over and done with and we’ll say amen.

He asks her out, It’s so perfect and right,
But in a while, they’ll have a fight
And sooner or later, it’ll be over,
No more Romeo, no more Casanova.

All things end. We don’t have a choice,
In this wide world, we’re just one voice.
In any life, in any town.
What goes up must come down.
