What I Deserve Poem by Bryce Miller

What I Deserve

Rating: 5.0

When today is over,
and tomorrow is near.
I'll look into the sky,
and ask ' Why I'm I here?

You say I'm one of you,
that's very hard to see.
All I did was cause pain and sorrow,
and now it all turns back to me.

I can understand your pain,
I suffer through it everyday.
When I look into her eyes and think,
'Did it have to be this way? '

I can never forgive myself,
for the horrible things I am responsible for.
I deserve to be punished,
I deserve nothing more.

I deserve to feel that pain,
that I have wrought onto others.
I deserve to understand,
why they felt that way,
and how I could make it better.

I don't deserve to be forgiven,
I just know that it's all I might.
I just wish she would talk to me,
or tell me the way to make it right.

But I understand why you hate me,
it's very plain to see.
But I want you to know,
that you will always be the better half of me.
