What I Want For Christmas Poem by michelle richards

What I Want For Christmas

It's Christmas time once again,
And the world is covered with snow,
While people shop till they drop,
I look out through my window.

Mamma's busy roasting turkey,
And John's scrubbing the floor,
Dad's setting up the Christmas tree
And May's making a crib near the door.

Uncle David I know is on the rooftop,
Struggling I'm sure to set up the star,
But if I know him, once he's done,
He'll treat himself to a candy bar!

It's Christmas eve and I'm in my room,
Looking up at the starry sight,
I think I can hear the angels sing,
Of the Saviour born tonight.

Santa must be on his way,
With all our presents in his big sack,
Will it be Rudolph, Dancer or Prancer,
Riding his sleigh on the snowny track.

I hope Santa's not lost my letter,
Which I wrote him few weeks ago,
I thanked him for the presents I knew he'd give me,
But still dared to ask for one more.

I wrote dear Santa if you would please
Bring me this year a pair of new knees,
A new pair of ankles and a new set of toes,
Cause the ones that I have no longer grows

It's just that dear Santa, I just want to run,
And also play ball in the school team too,
So I'll shut my eyes now knowing you'll come,
A very Merry Christmas dear Santa and a big thank you!
