WHAT IF....



What if everything we wished for always
came true.
Would there be anything left to hope
for?

What if there were no problems in life to
get upset over.
Would there be anything left to make
our hearts sore?

What if we ran away every time things
didn’t go our way.
Would things still be bad?

What if our loved ones didn’t care or
love.
If we were gone would they be sad?

What it I had taken a different path.
Chosen different ground to roam.

What if I wasn’t sittin in prison.
Would I still have written this poem?
