What if....?

What if he didn't do it?
What if they got it wrong?
They say they know he did it
that it won't take very long

then justice will be done
the dead he made, avenged

his daughter and his son
say, “No, don't seek revenge”
“They would say that, of course”
yet clearly when we see him, “He
doesn't show remorse”

But what if he didn't do it?
Can we take his life instead?
Knowing he isn't guilty
But still we want him dead
