What If? Poem by Leslie Alexis

What If?

What if he didn't?
What if he couldn't?
What if he decided he wouldn't?
I mean,
Dear God, thank you. You didn't!

What if Jesus did like us and didn't?
What if we served a God that couldn't?
What if when God said to Jesus go!
He said:
No, they don't deserve me.
I wouldn't.

He died for me, but didn't have to.
Seriously, his life he gave for me,
Yet, to him mine I don't want to.

You could have just let us be.
But, my god you didn't.
Salvation you gave to us.
When in ourselves we just couldn't.

THANK YOU.
