What If Poem by Gamaliel Scipio

What If

What if!

Of which

'What if'

Should anyone

Possibly

Be thinking?

With life

As assurance

That god

Exist

I see no

Reason

For anyone

To ever be

Worrying

About

Anything

Especially

That of

'What if'

The only

'What if'

Of which

I or anyone

Should ever

Give thought

Is

'What if'

After all these

Years

Of Mans

existence

he continues

Worrying

About that

Which

He can not

Change

It should be

“What if”

Man is not

Half as wise

As he believes

He is!

Try listening

To his

Frustration

The angry

Words

He

Continuously

Chooses to

Mention

profoundly

echoing

Through the

Room

That dismal

Sound of

The regret

He has shown

For that which

He was born

Without

Selfishly he

Keeps asking

Himself

And everyone

else

'What if'

Over and over

Repeating

Why hadn’t he

Been born

Wealthy

Having

Everything

That he ever

wanted.

There entertaining

Many a wasteful

thoughts

Thinking of

Why his

Parents

Did not have

Those things

Other parents

Had for their

Children

That he also

Wanted

While growing

Up

His pains should

Now be over

He has finally

Grown up

Being much

Older now

Time has made

Him to realize

That god is real

He is perfect,

He is set apart

Was not until

This moment

When he has

Finally

He has found

Out

That god, his

Creator

Is incapable

Of mistakes

And that

Just the way

He is,

Is the way

God intended

There is no

What if!

No need to

Ever wonder

Why he should

Never again

Have to

Wonder

About anything

Especially

That of

'What if'
