What In The Heck Poem by Francis Duggan

What In The Heck

What in the heck are we arguing about
You don't like it when your opinions i doubt
You have convinced yourself of a life after death
That life does not end when you draw your last breath.

You are so convinced of the existence of a heaven and hell
Yet none of the deceased have come back to tell
Of the life hereafter somewhere in the sky
The facts of the matter are hard to deny.

You must understand that those who believe differently to you
Are quite entitled to their point of view
And mere words never convince the cynic in me
I only believe what i happen to see.

The facts only matter since the facts never lie
And the fact is we will live till the day that we die
Though you are convinced with your god you'll live on
And that all hope of salvation for my soul has gone.
