What Is Poetry To Me? Poem by Dr John Celes

What Is Poetry To Me?

Rating: 5.0

A passion that became a fashion
A pastime that became a profession
A hobby that became an accomplishment
A distraction that became a serious endeavor
A mental exercise that became a hearty auto-play
A craft that became an art
A stressor pleasant that became a stress-reliever in distress
A duty that became a beauty
A virtuality that became an escape from reality
A song that became a splendid voice
A flight that became light as a feather
A word-painting that became a world-painting worthwhile
A dream that became a true experience
A travel that became a journey to imaginary lands
A problem that became a panacea for solving many others
A test that became my unbreakable record
A feat that became an unplanned venture
A moment inspired that became my natural life-time
A pleasure that became an ecstasy
A work that became an endearing enterprise
A learning that became my life’s meaning
A climb that became a magical rise to stardom
A road that became my life’s thoroughfare
A door anew that became vistas to a kaleidoscopic vision
A mansion that became my fort and forte
A realm that became my haven and heaven
A way that became my truth and life
A search that became my gate to eternity
A love that became my inseparable spouse
A slumber that became my wakefulness
A balm that became my calm in life’s storms
A habit that became my addiction without adverse effects
A poison that became a cure needing no antidote
A wealth on earth that became the health of my soul
A something that became my everything
A gift of God that became His clarion call
A rapture mundane that became one divine!
