What Once Was Poem by Lora Colon

What Once Was

He was my window to Springtime,
His love, like a soft wind, kept me warm,
His kiss delivered the sun's promise
To chase away the bitter storm

He was a song I kept humming,
Love's melody playing in my head,
Tumbling like dried leaves in Autumn's wind,
Like the leaves, the music's now dead

He was everything my heart needs
For this journey through life's misery,
He blazed the pathway, clearing the trail,
As I ventured forth, fearlessly

He was a calm wave on my sea
When sorrow tried to pull me under,
On swift wings, he vanquished the day's pain,
Then he filled my nights with wonder

He was the answer to my prayer
From a God I thought to be long dead,
O, how I rejoiced with renewed faith,
Now, I curse the deity instead

He was... but now he is no more,
Can you hear the message my heart bleeds?
Just an echo circling Heaven's door....
He was everything my heart needs

He Was He was the garden of my soul I sensed life odors, fresh fruits I toiled in and had full my pail Rot the roots yet die the shoots

So heart touching poem it was.A beautiful expression of close bonding with beloved.I personally believe that this loss can never be fulfilled in this life by any other means.Though its very harsh to hear, but this pain of losing the dear will remain intact throughout rest of life. I'm sorry to say the harsh fact.

He was everything my heart needs. Really lovely words. Time heals all broken hearts so that life can start anew. Lovely poem.
