What’s Pure Love? Poem by Dr John Celes

What’s Pure Love?

A mother’s tender loving care of child
A father’s strictness, wise advice and toil
A sister’s help in family chores
A brother’s service outdoor and stores
A lover’s steadfast stand under threat of death
A fiancee’s adamant moves against force
A stranger’s Good Samaritan gestures and acts
A friend’s organ-donating sacrifice
A neighbor watchfulness of your empty house
An alms-giving aid to a shelterless, diseased beggar
A sustained search for neighbor lost child
A big donation to a cancer care place
An adoption of an orphaned child despite our own
A forgiveness of a life-long foe
A parent’s forgiveness of a prodigal son
Children’s loving care of parents when old
An unrequited love of any kind to anyone!
