What The Old Man Said Poem by Tony Adah

What The Old Man Said

I have seen
The beginning
And the end of the world
The good and the bad

I have walked
All my life, sitting here
Consigned to my wheelchair
Is a big bonus offered
To me at my balcony

I have worked
All the rest of my life
Being sedentary today
Is another way of
Giving me respite
From the brisk days of yore
Here I am fulfilled
Watching toddlers
Wobbling into my shoes.
