What To One Is Graffiti Poem by Francis Duggan

What To One Is Graffiti

What to one is graffiti to another is art
And no such a thing as inferior if it comes from the heart
It all depends on if you like what you see
What's doggerel to you can be poetry to me,
I keep on repeating the words of the wise
Like to the top of the milk the cream always does rise
And those with true talent become quite well known
And we talk of the best as in a class of their own
Graffiti artists are lawbreakers the lawmakers say
Their art on the trains and the train station walls they do spray
Some say that they suffer of low self esteem
But much of their work is quite good it does seem
But to the law graffiti artists are committing a crime
And if caught in the act they will serve prison time.
