What We Give We Receive Poem by Francis Duggan

What We Give We Receive

We only see in others what we want to see
And what I dislike in others I dislike in me
Such pearls of wisdom from the past we recall
But judge yourself as you would judge others if you judge at all
If you only look for flaws in others then flaws you will find
And in so doing to your own faults you do become blind
The one you disrespect to you respect won't pay
What we give we receive life is always this way
Big Brother's disciples as we know are not rare
But they don't have wisdom with others to share
Suppose they can't help it their lack of insight
They feel that to judge is their natural right
We never stop learning the wise one did say
And in life there are lessons for us every day.
