What Will You Do? Poem by Mellissa J Barlow

What Will You Do?

Rating: 4.5

Here I am once again,
I meet this pain like an old friend.

Each moment I last is another day i get better,
But at this very moment I can't believe as I'm crashing down hill,
My eyes getting wetter and wetter.

My heart only just beating,
My fight slowly dying,
My strength weakening.

Here I lay in the darkness,
With the words crashing upon my skull,
As the silence starts to scream the truth I feel my faith become less and less.

As I close my eyes I see the words going around and around, I can picture my lifeless body on the cold ground.

The only question that remains as I fall,
Could I really end it all?

The pain would stop,
The tears would no longer drop.

My heart couldn't be broken,
No one will miss me because I all ready feel forgotten.

A voice inside my head says you can be strong,
Another says you know you cant cope so give in you know it won't last long.

Tears fall harder then ever,
You said you wouldn't, you said never.

What are you going to do?

You know your friends and family will worry but you can't see that at this moment in time as the voices in your head block out any clear choices you could make,
You start to shake,
You know a second is all that it would take.

Can you hear that?
Is that you calling,
Or is this it the end,
Am I falling?

A white light appears and I see you again,
You say this isn't then end for you, your given a second chance so what you gonna do?
