What You Did To Me Poem by Samuel Chung

What You Did To Me

O how can you be so cruel?
you wrought me like this,
and used it as a tool.

You caused pain,
you caused suffering
and yet, why do I continue?
To gain?

I hate you for the very pain
that you gave me.
Yet I never can fully
lock you out of my life,

to lock you away,
is equivalent to lock myself as well.
you won't be far away
not now, not later
not today.

You hold in your very hands
the keys to demolish my plans.
Yet why do I give them
all to you?
in this, I have no clue.

My Weaknesses,
my faults,
my foundation stones,
you walked them all,
you studied them well
and you made me fall.

Cunning like a fox,
You came, and you went
taking my only defense with you.
Yet for so long
never have I seen it,
trapped in your safe, along with
those powerful keys.

You caused pain,
you caused endless suffering
seconds turned to minutes
minutes to hours
hours to days
days to eternity.
My nights seemed like a lifetime.
Yet I continue. In hope that
I will somehow obtain
that Precious gain
