When A Cat Sleeps Poem by Walter C. Edwards

When A Cat Sleeps

When cats sleep, if light is around,
they place a paw over there borough,
to shed the brightness coming down,
if they are content they will purr as they sleep,
with dreams of dancing
finches on the branch outside,
laying by the window ledge,
only to be startled by words I have said.
