When Finally We Come Out Of This Long Silence Poem by Samson Nyarima

When Finally We Come Out Of This Long Silence

When finally we come out of this long
Silence
It will not be for hate,
Rather, the not wishing
To sit back and watch this sinking ship

When finally we come out of this
Reverie
It will be to salvage the remnants of this broken star
When finally we sigh,
It will be from deep down

For the silence that abounds
Perplexes
Complicates and confuses the very core of our
Humanity
We can no longer but stand and say enough,
Truth must one day take its rightful
