When God My Father Calls Me There Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

When God My Father Calls Me There

Rating: 5.0

In heaven shines my Saviour's light
Just like a star within the night,
That twinkles in the endless sky
A sign to all the souls who die,
A place where streams and fountains flow
Where blossoms bloom and flowers grow,
And I shall feel his loving care
When God my father calls me there.

When age does end my weary days
I'll leave behind my earthly ways,
And head towards that home above
So filled with deep and reverent love,
I shall rejoice and dance with glee
To know my King has welcomed me,
Then I shall bow my head in prayer
When God my father calls me there.

I'll meet again my friends at last
Who through my life had sadly passed,
I'll cast away all thoughts of fear
Then I shall sing with grateful cheer,
For I will feel the hand of grace
Within that vast and holy place,
And everlasting peace I'll share
When God my father calls me there.

What a lovely poem Andrew, one I haven't read before. I love the repeated last lines and it really is a perfect piece. Divine is the word I think for this one.
