When I Close My Eyes
When I close my eyes
No one can see
What I am thinking
What I am feeling
No one but me
When I close my eyes
It is as though I am alone
It matters not who surrounds me
If no one
Still, I am free;
Maybe I sleep
Maybe I pray
Maybe I escape, or wait
For all to end
This day;
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
Will I awake
Again to begin
When I close my eyes?
