When I Close These Eyes Poem by James Darwin Smith II

When I Close These Eyes

Floating in space
Roaming in an endless roam
Stars all around
Guiding me home
Where to?
Only they will ever know

So many planets
Which one would be more suitable?
Perhaps, the calmest of the bunch
Destroying these earthly anxieties
In an obvious galactic motion's course

No panic, Feeling as ease
Must be an Alien after all!
Because without the presence of earth
I have never felt this free! At Ease!

Onward I go, carefree
Not a care of this world
No worries of finding a home
Loving this nomadic roam

Going places
Where I have never been before

Floating in space
I have found my true worth
Ways of endless thoughts
Universal peace
Over the limits
Beyond the rock
Of promises led astray

Above and beyond
The paradox of space guides me home
Traveling beyond earth's trivial acceptance
And the privy paltry needs of the few
Leading the many to fight amongst
Their own petty guilt of pleasures
Tearing each other's hopes and dreams
In the name of Disciple heavy reassurances

As I close these eyes
I fly off into the great unknown
I am an Alien Astronaut
Looking for a place to call my own

As I close these eyes
I come closer to finding my limitless home
When I close these eyes
I am always free to roam!

In peaceful Alienation,

When I close these eyes
This soul is never alone!
