When I Jump Poem by Tina Hills

When I Jump

Rating: 3.0

When you say jump,
I will jump.
When you say run,
I ask where.
There's so much control,
I can barely take it.
I don't want this, but you do.
So because you do,
I do.
I'll jump when you tell me to.
I'll run where you tell me to.
I'll do anything you tell me to.
I want to save everyone else from what you will do.
From what you'll do when the day comes.
The day I don't jump,
They day I don't run.
The day my existence ceases.
I want to erase you from my life line.
I'm scared.
So I'll jump.
To avoid getting hurt.
This is my life.
So when I jump,
You better run.

The unpleasant effects of bullying and abuse well depicted in the poem. I guess we must all be courageous and say no to abuse. A nice piece of poetry, insightfully penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
