When In Love Poem by David Harris

When In Love

When in love we are but children
playing in fields under a golden sun,
whose warmth envelopes us like the blankets
we use on winter nights.

We dance on silver lined clouds
until the morning sheds its newborn light
waking the sleeping children
to spread their wings and fly.

When in love tomorrow is today
and the veil of eternity lifts forever
revealing no boundaries to restrain us
from the heaven we are within.

When in love we are but strangers
in a world we never knew
revealing all the miracles of life
and snowflakes fall on a summer’s day.
