It hurts when you are lonely,
It hurts to hear you cry.
It hurts when things are going wrong,
It hurts to say goodbye.

You feel it through your troubles,
You feel it through your tears.
You feel it through your hard times,
And even through yours fears.

When you can't really go on,
And you have to scream and shout.
You're besides yourself with worry,
And besides yourself with doubt.

Maybe it's because you're crying,
And you think you don't know why.
Maybe it's because you're hurting,
And you had to say goodbye.
