When Life Is A Matter Of Timing Poem by Verbaas Mij

When Life Is A Matter Of Timing

an angel of death once told me
that everyone dies at the wrong time.
only in the right time
can people live.
I can play the cello
and appreciate a mother's hug.
I can outrun trouble
and smile with babies.
i cannot share my life
and pledge my allegiance.
I cannot give my soul
and receive one in return.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

very thoughtful writing, Verbaas. you have some outstanding lines here, like 'i cannot share my life and pledge my allegiance. I cannot give my soul and receive one in return.' which i think should have been the close to the poem. it makes one think more for his/herself, without the explanatory, subjective conclusion you draw. cheers.
