When Our Eyes First Meet Poem by Leaking Pen

When Our Eyes First Meet

When our eyes first meet and greet and suddenly fireworks ignite…
And cause my heart to melt and my legs to shake day and night
Yet my mind seems hesitant, for it has been dragged there before
And the price it has paid was too high, but my heart still wants more,
And this never ending struggles between the yin and the yang
For a balanced nature not mine to be, I’m lost in love’s big bang,
And like a fool in love my heart overrides and blankets my mind
For it desperately wants to pair up like the rest of my kind.
And I wonder which is the lesser of two evils, being alone…
Or give love another chance before my heart turns to stone?
I will throw caution to the wind for my heart to feel alive again
Not from mundane biology, but from the new love inside, Amen!
